The Museo della Specola is part of the Department of Astronomy
and of the Athenaeum Museum System (SMA) of the University of
Bologna.
It occupies the Specola, the astronomical
tower built in the beginning of 18th-century over Palazzo Poggi, the University palace (see map).

The Museo della Specola is closed for restoration.
It will reopen in 2013 at some future date.
