The Andromeda galaxy (M31) with its two major satellites (NGC205 and M32) and an enlargement of one of its about 350 globular clusters (GCs). The large field image is from Tautenburg plates, and the high-resolution image is from the WFPC2 camera on board of Hubble Space Telescope, obtained by OAB members. Shown on the lower right corner are the V and I data points of a candidate RR Lyrae star indentified for the first time in the M31 GCs, superposed for comparison to light curve templates of a typical RR Lyrae variable.
