After the installation in 2002 of the 2Mbit connection between the Loiano Observatory and Bologna, a fiber optic link connecting the 152cm Loiano telescope and the old 60cm telescope and the guesthouse has been installed. This link allows also the connection of a GPS receiver belonging to the Department of Physics of the Bologna University with downtown computers. This equipment is part of a geo-physics local network monitoring earth-crust movements.
