******************** Second Announcement ********************** "Evolving Galaxies in Evolving Environments" http://egee2014.bo.astro.it/ Bologna, September 15 - 19, 2014 **************************************************************** Pre-registration and abstract submission are now open for the conference "Evolving Galaxies in Evolving Environments". The programme of the conference will cover the following topics: 1. Evolving environments: clusters, groups, density field, clustering, dark matter environment, and how they depend globally on redshift) 2. Central galaxies: links between accretion, bulge growth, star formation & AGN feedback, including BCGs. 3. Satellite galaxies: direct evidence of interaction with environment, physical mechanisms, simulations, empirical trends. 4. Tight interactions and no interactions: merging, close pairs, compact groups, fossils/isolated galaxies, etc. 5. Multiphase gas and environment: observations and simulations of gas budget vs halo mass, hot gas (detection, cooling, stripping), warm gas (absorption studies, abundance), cold gas (detection of flows, abundance). The preliminary list of invited speakers includes: Michael Blanton (TBC, New York University), Elena D'Onghia (Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison), Sara Ellison (TBC, Univ. of Victoria), Giuseppe Gavazzi (Milano Bicocca Univ.), Thorsten Naab (MPA Garching), Anna Pasquali (Univ. Heidelberg), Amélie Saintonge (UCL), Christy Tremonti (TBC, Univ. of Wisconsin- Madison), David Weinberg (TBC, Ohio State University). The conference will be held in the auditorium of the former convent of Santa Cristina -Y´della Fondazza¡, Piazzetta Giorgio Morandi 2, in the historic centre of Bologna, home of the oldest university in the world.
