A century  since  the discovery of Cosmic Rays, two and half years after
its installation on the International Space Station, the Alpha Magnetic
Spectrometer (AMS) is delivering the first physics results about
precision measurement of Cosmic Rays from  about  0.1 GeV to the TeV
scale. After briefly reviewing the experiment and its operation in space
I will  present  the  results obtained during the first 30  months of
operation in space, and discuss their significance and the perspectives
in the context of particle and astroparticle physics.
