The latest observational results concerning the disruoting dwarf galaxies in Canis Major and Sagittarius are briefly reviewed. We have traced the CMa system using Red Clump stars instead of M giants obtaining a much clearer 3D view of the galaxy and of other structures in the Galactic disc. The kinematics of CMa have been analysed with a sample of more than 2000 stars for which we have obtained the radial velocity. I will also present the statistically-decontaminated Color Magnitude Diagram of a 1 deg X 1 deg field in the main body of the Sgr dSph galaxy that has been recently obtained from WFI images and the preliminary results of the abundance analysis of more than 100 Red Giants of Sgr that has been obtained from hi-res VLT-FLAMES spectra by the ITALFLAMES consortium.
