The recent spectroscopical and photometric evidence for the presence of multiple stellar populations in Galactic GCs severely challenges stellar model "producers". In this seminar we discuss the theoretical evolutionary framework required for interpreting the various observational findings and show how the comparison between observations and suitable stellar models can provide very useful clues about the properties of the various sub-populations in a given GC.
