Eclipses have always been a powerful tool for astronomy: for the solar system, for binary stars and for exosolar planets. Now we see that comparable X-ray absorption variations are extraordinarily powerful in diagnosing the inner structure of AGNs. The little-studied AGN in NGC1365 shows many of these features in a uniquely telling way. I will give a series of examples, ranging in scale from the 'torus' to ~10 Rg, using data from Chandra, XMM-Newton and Suzaku.
