After a brief motivation and introduction to Bekenstein's tensor-vector-scalar theory (TeVeS), I will discuss its cosmology and the framework of gravitational lensing. I will continue in highlighting three different aspects of applications, pointing towards a possible distinction between TeVeS and the concordance model: Voids and filamentary structures, which due to their low densities are subject to strong nonlinear effects, and the complex lens system Abell 2390 with its mysterious straight arc.
