I will review and discuss the clustering properties of X-ray selected AGN based on recent results from deep and moderately deep X-ray surveys. X-ray selection allows the best estimate of the spatial clustering of obscured AGN, which remains so far poorly determined. In the Chandra Msec Fields no significant differences have been found in the clustering amplitude of obscured and unobscured AGN. Significance cosmic variance in the clustering amplitude of the total AGN population has been though observed between the two Msec fields. The results from the Chandra Msec Fields will be compared with those obtained from other X-ray and optical surveys to investigate the cosmological evolution of AGN clustering. Prospects for the major on-going X-ray surveys (eg. COSMOS) will be finally addressed.
