I will review the current status of the Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR), as well as provide a status update of one of its main key-science programs that aims to detect the redshifted 21-cm line of neutral hydrogen during the Epoch of Reionization in the redshift range z=6-12. I will provide an overview of the observational strategy, data-processing, and current results of the project, as well as future prospects. If time permits I will shortly discuss future directions to study the EoR, and its preceding Cosmic Dawn plus Dark Ages, with planned interferometer arrays on the ground and in space.
