Gravitational lensing has become an important tool in the study of cosmology and astrophysics. I will discuss how strong lenses - lenses with multiple images of a single source - have added to our knowledge and will do so in the future. In particular, I will show that strong lenses are starting to enable us to measure the distribution of dark matter on small scales and how they can be used to study the structure of quasars.
