An increasing number of photometric and spectroscopic observations of
multiple stellar populations in Galactic globular clusters is seriously
challenging the paradigm of GCs hosting single, simple stellar
populations. In this talk I will summarize the main empirical findings
collected so far and discuss the properties of these sub-populations and
their possible relationship with global cluster properties.
