X-ray AGN space density calculator

This tool computes the intrinsic volume density of different AGN populations as a function of redshift. The AGN absorption, luminosity and redshift intervals can be specified in the form below. The output volume density is returned in ASCII format in units of [Mpc-3] comoving.

A concordance cosmology with Ωm=0.3, ΩΛ=0.7, H0=70 km/s/Mpc is assumed.

Please fill ALL fields to make the tool work properly. Click on the parameter names for help on valid ranges.

redshift min : (minimum redshift)
redshift max : (maximum redshift)
log NH min : (log minimum column density in cm-2)
log NH max : (log maximum column density in cm-2)
high-z decline : (apply a decline to the high-z AGN XLF)
log L min : (log minimum intrinsic luminosity, 0.5-2 keV, in erg/s*)
log L max : (log maximum intrinsic luminosity, 0.5-2 keV, in erg/s*)

*) NOTE: logL(0.5-2 keV) = logL(2-10 keV) - 0.13 for an intrinsic power law spectrum with Γ=1.9. To compute space densities in any desired range of hard, 2-10 keV luminosities LH1 and LH2, simply put LH1-0.13 and LH2-0.13 in the form.
