Text version of the first announcement
First announcement
This is the first announcement of the School of Astrophysics "F. Lucchin" for PhD to be held in Bertinoro (FC) during the week May 24-29, 2009.Aims of the school
The School of Astrophysics "F. Lucchin" is adressed to PhD students in Astronomy and Physics and it is open also to interested young researchers. The aim of the school is to contribute to their qualification and provide a common cultural baseline on hot topics of international research, both observational and theoretical.
The school is two-years long, being comprised of 4 courses of 1 week each, for a total amount of 120 hours of lectures. Each course is about 2 topics, possibly not closely connected. The courses will be held in centres placed in the neighbourhood of different Astronomical Observatories and/or Universities to facilitate the interaction between students and the local astronomical research groups.

There will be the possibility for the students to present their scientific activity in short talks.
Registrations and deadline
The deadline for the registration is April 20th 2009.
It is possible to apply either using the on-line registration form at http://www.bo.astro.it/~school09 or sending the form by email to school09@oabo.inaf.it or by fax at the number +39 051 2095700 (though e-mail or the on-line form are strongly recommended). Applicants will receive an email confirming their registration.
For practical reasons the maximum number of participants will be 60. In case more people apply, priority will be given to PhD students. The final list of participants will be given by April 25th 2009. Participants will have to confirm by April 30th 2006 that they will attend the school.
