In these pages we have tried to summarize the work done up to now to estimate Stellar Masses from photometry in the VVDS.

Here you can find some documentation produced.

Methods to estimate the Stellar Mass :

1- Using photometry + HyperZ (by Lucia Pozzetti & Micol Bolzonella):

The first step to estimate the stellar Mass is the photometric catalogue (the same used by photometric redshift WG):
the procedure to obtain Stellar Mass is described here

2- Using photometry + spectroscopy (by Paolo Franzetti):

the procedure to obtain Stellar Mass is describedhere.

3- Using spectral features (by Baptiste Meneaux & Stephane Charlot):

the procedure to obtain Stellar Mass is describedhere.

see also the web-page of Spectrophotometry WG to derive measurements of spectral features from the spectrophotometric analysis
that will be used for mass estimates using the Kauffmann et al. (2003) method.

Comparison

The comparison between the 3 methods is in progress and described here

RESULTS

1- Using photometry + HyperZ (by MB & LP):

The results (figures and files) are available here

2- Using photometry + spectroscopy (by PF):

The results (figures and files) are available here
